Tefillin checking typically takes about one week. If you need a loaner pair of Tefillin to use in the meantime, please schedule an appointment. This ensures that a loaner set is available and allows us to coordinate a time for drop-off and pickup. If you do not need a loaner, Tefillin can be dropped off at any time in our secure drop box. Our Services
House Call Service - Taking down Checking and Putting back up (1-20 Mezuzahs)
$180.00 - $465.00
The cost is $15 per Mezuzah for checking.
If the house call is for 20 Mezuzahs or less it's a flat rate of $165 for the service call in addition to the cost of checking the Mezuzahs.

Tefillin Computer Checking

In addition to a Sofers examination, we strongly recommended you to have a computer checking done as well.
Although examiners do the best they can, humans can make mistakes which the computer can catch. However, it is not a substitute for the manual examination, for although the computer can successfully catch missing and substituted letters, it can not determine letters with a problematic shape if they are Kosher or not, or do the actual repairs if necessary. This can only be accomplished through a meticulous manual examination by a qualified Sofer.
The cost for a computer examination is minimal and a one time expense. If you have never had your Teffilin or Mezuzos computer checked, it is advisable to do so the next time you have them examined.

Painting and Refurbishing Tefillin

After years of wearing Tefillin it is common for the straps and Batim are begin to fade or warp thereby invalidating your Tefillin
Mezuzah placement consultation
$75.00 - $125.00
If we take your Mezuzahs down for checking there is no extra charge for the placement consultation we include it in that service.
This is only if you need to verify the placement of your Mezuzahs without the Mezuzah checking.
When verifying Mezuzah placement it is best to be done in person. As we can mark the doors and the correct spot on the door to place the Mezuzah. If however, you are outside our service area we can verify Mezuzah placement through Zoom.
Please note; the rate of $125 for in-person consultation is for Rockland County only. If you live outside our service area please call or message us to get a more accurate quote.
The rates are for up to one hour of time, most in-person home visits take 30-45min.
Once you place your order we will reach out to you to schedule the consultation. (This order will be scheduled as a pickup so that you are not charged for shipping in checkout.)
